Graham Meese
Graham Meese grew up enveloped in the redwood forests of California, earning a BS in Geology from UC Santa Cruz. He strives to be a steward of the land and spent his early career sharing his love of nature through guiding, from the caves of the Channel Islands to the peaks of the Sierra. He returned to school earning a Master’s in Geology focused on the impacts of restoration and conservation efforts on water quality in agricultural watersheds. He has worked as a geologist, hydrologist, wildfire resiliency project coordinator, and is currently a senior environmental scientist for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife focused on water rights and hydropower licensing in Inyo and Mono Counties. His wife, Lauren Smith Meese, was raised in a ranching family in the Owens Valley and they moved to Big Pine in 2021 to be close to family, shortly after having their first child. He became a board member of the Inyo Mono Resource Conservation District in 2023 and is determined to improve the safety of our communities, health of the natural ecosystems, and sustain agricultural production in the Eastern Sierra.
